Hearing aids vary because people’s hearing difficulties, lifestyles and listening demands vary. Some people mainly need support in quiet one-to-one conversations, while others need more help in background noise, restaurants, social settings, meetings or busy family life.

The options below are grouped by the level of listening support they provide, particularly for speech clarity, background-noise handling, comfort, rechargeability and long-term aftercare.

We will only recommend options that are appropriate for your hearing, lifestyle and budget — and you are always free to take time to decide.

• Do not need rechargeable technology or advanced background-noise support

Basic hearing aids include limited aftercare and a 2-year warranty. They are not usually suitable for ongoing background-noise difficulties or more demanding listening lifestyles.
